Problems
The age gap between second kids and parents is too great. The age gap between the two children is too great as well. Further complicating the relationship of second-child families, triggering a different pattern of parent-child relationships in second-child families than before.
Interview
The goal of the interview is to better understand:
Reasons and purposes for Chinese parents to have a second child 15+ years younger than their first child.
Perceptions and practices of each member of an older two-child family regarding family relationships.

Findings
Cold Relationship Their lives are so different that it is difficult to find a common topic between two children.
Lack of Trust The first child often believes that the reason parents wanted to have the second child in middle age is the dissatisfaction of them or lack of respect.
Parental Inaction Many parents failed to bring the two children closer and believed that the situation would naturally improve.
